Gateway to the Atlantic, Nantes fully deserves its 2013 title of European Green Capital. Its transformation, illustrated by the bold renovation of the Île de Nantes, is a success revealing the full vibrancy of a city that is decidedly looking to the future. A popular destination with businessmen, it has also established itself as an economic stronghold around its European business district Euronantes or Saint-Nazaire port.
